Ricardo Ten is 11 times European champion, 5 times world champion and 3 times Paralympic champion in the Olympics of Sydney and Beijing in his specialty of Braza WR. Ten was born in Benimàmet in 1975 although he lives in Tavernes Blanques and at the age of eight he suffered an electrical accident for which the MMSS and M.I.Izq were amputated. This did not prevent him from practicing a multitude of sports such as mountain biking, table tennis, swimming, basketball, football or skiing. But it was not until 1993 when he started competing. In 1995 he received the first call of the National Swimming Team and he has not failed to reap success so far. Ricardo Ten is an example of personal improvement and a representative figure of the philosophy of constant effort. And in Varona we believe in people like him.

Varona also contributes to the support of the actions of the Spanish Alliance of Families of Von Hippel-Lindau. It is a cancerous, familial and hereditary pathology that is considered a rare disease
